Richard L. Bennett
Richard Bennett is the founding pastor and chief organizer of Dayspring Family Church. His vision for the church was born out of, a desire to serve and empower the people of God. Beginning in 2004, he began to envision a unified body of Christ that overcomes every obstacle it faces. His extensive experience in public service and education provide for a unique pastor who values service and excellence. He is married to Verlinda Bennett, and together they have three adult children and 15 grandchildren.
Pastor Richard has served as a national consultant for the American Council on Education. In this role he reviewed the National Baptist College, and the Vineyard ‘s curriculum for college credit. A graduate of the Johnson Leadership Institute and the Canton College of Ministry as well as an Earned Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Pastor Verlinda Bennett
Pastor Verlinda M. Bennett is the loving and devoted wife of Senior Pastor Richard L. Bennett. Together, they founded Dayspring Family Church in 2005. The native of Akron, Ohio, is the mother of three, Christopher, Jesmone, and Angela grandmother of 15 and a dear friend to many.
Pastor Verlinda has more than 25 years of experience working with people from diverse and challenging backgrounds. She is also known as Professor Verlinda, She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and two master’s degrees in social work and education from The University of Akron. Pastor Verlinda is known to be an encouraging person. Pastor Verlinda loves to see others succeed in the midst of trying circumstances. Her down-to-earth nature makes her easily approachable.
In her spare time, she is the founder and executive director of The Dayspring and sits on the committee of the Williams Challenge and Stark County Fatherhood Initiative. Each of these non-profit organizations assist young people to reach their full potential as viable members of society.
